Session Description:

This session is focused on sharing creative and inclusive communication tools that can be used to increase connection, communication and understanding of creative engagement tools, rooted in leadership theories and concepts.This hands-on session will draw on experiential methods of engagement which could include: photos, timelines, looking through the lens of a non-human perspective, tactile objects etc.


Participant takeaways from this session:

  • A no-stress, creative engagement session that will offer you a chance to rejuvenate, tap into your creativity and, possibly, add to your own creative engagement tool-kit

Presenter Bio:

Ali Miller-Chong (sher/her) lives in Moh'kinsstis, Calgary, with her husband and twin boys and was born in the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg people in Barrie, Ontario. Therefore, she is both a Flames and Leafs hockey fan. She has industry experience and formal education rooted in Radio and Television arts, Technological Education and a Master of Arts in Leadership (MAL). She has been in the education sector for over a decade and taught a combination of Drama, Technical Theatre, Broadcast Journalism and Yoga.. Through her First-Person Action Research process she engaged in at Royal Roads University, she researched inclusive and innovative communication techniques which draw upon arts-based methodologies. Aka.Creative and active experiences that are intentionally designed, take into consideration various learning styles and require no mastery of fine arts skills. Join Ali as she takes you on a magical session that will kick start your creative juices and show you a unique way to build the conversation.
