Beginning of Year Self-Portraits

Task:

Let's start the year by creating a self portrait. That means we are going to be drawing ourselves! You may have made a self portrait before, but since your skills are ever improving, and you are always growing, your portrait this time will probably be very different.

Materials:

● Plastic locker mirrors (if possible)

● Pictures of your students (if possible)

● Paper / visual journal

● Markers

● Coloured pencils, etc.

● Pencil

● Eraser

Here's what you get to do:

1. Watch the linked video.

2. Draw a self portrait. Try to make sure you do the following:

   • look at a picture of yourself while drawing, or use a mirror!

   • add colour and / or shading to your work.

3. Share your work
